Default Which and Why? Another Example, Post Production

Hi everyone! I know I've been absent a bit, but trying to stick around more. We'll soon be upgrading the forum software for more efficiency, so stay tuned!

For now, we've opened up this new forum as quasi-critique area, in other words, the poster must post two similar images, and the members must provide which of the two they like, and why? Call it a different form of critic, more like proactive feedback. No photo required to post your choice and feedback.

The key, both images must be close to the other, and/or some type of change like sepia verses color or similar poses. You can also take one image and ask, this crop or that crop and why? I'll kick this off with some examples. All "why" answers must be constructive, not destructive, the idea is to learn from other people's thoughts! Thanks, rg sends!

Please choose between the first and second image and explain why you like/dislike? Thanks!

Number one in this one. The sepia conversion makes the left breast appear unnatural to my eyes. It's weird - even though the tones of the arm and breast are the same in relation to each other in 1 and in 2, the breast really stands out (to me) in number 2.

I'm not diggin the sepia either. It makes me think she's just standing in dirty water. The skin tones are similar between sepia and color, so my mind tends to think it's still a full color photo.
The first photo makes me think it's an ocean of wine. Again the mind tries to reason with the color conflict. If you've ever seen the wine making process it looks she got caught in one of the large vats they mash the grapes in.

The sepia is not working for me either. She looks like a bronze statue standing in muddy water.

The color version works better IMO. I like the magenta highlight around her in the water. Makes her pop out of the water. Nice effect.

Great job as always....

Both of these work for me. I would be very happy to hang either one on the wall.
I Do Find The Sepia to be a Refressing Change. I tend to see more of them In Publications

Just by the pictures themselves, I like number one. But, when looking at the sepia one the first thought that comes to my mind is using it in a fantasy scene. I'm picturing a female dragon-slainer, wearing a metal bikini carrying a sword and sheild, walking through the depths of hades looking for the dragon's treasure.

Yeaa, I know that I have a bit of a wild imagination.
