Which Crop works better..

I have two crops of the same file..one includes more background to show the overall area..The other is tightly cropped to show the main objects as the theme. This is a more or less close-up landscape type image with interesting angles. I like them both..Each has its strong points. But is one a more interestig image? And why?

I'd say definitely the second. To me it's just aesthetically more pleasing and easier to look at. It seems to tell more of the story than the first.

That, of coarse, was very close to the original "In-Camera" image...
...let's get a few more comments..I am doing some Post to offer another set of the popular pick, in a different effect.

I like the first one, second one seems too cluttered for me. Just my 2 cents worth.

Ok, #1 seems to work better...I have agree after a few days of seeing both.
Since this was on a ranch...I did one more change......
Which one works better>>>> Brown Tone, or B&W and why ??

B&W

I like #1, Brown Tone...it is more rustic looking.

I am a hobbyist, therefore, I take what I consider interesting views or compositions...I don't need a "reason" why I take a particular image...It may be arty to me, or historical, or just for fun. (reasons enough)

This thread is for "Which and Why"...That's Why I am posting this photo(s), I am participating....

Ok The Closer Crop In Color.When In Doubt Remember That the Eye Doesn't Want To See The Machanics That Is Suspending The Product.Unless, Of Course,It's The Machanics
That You Are Selling.
The Mail Box Has A Lot on Characture But Is Too Far On the Bottom To Add To the Composition. It COULD Be Intresting Blured In The Background.If That Is A Bird Feeder? Add A Bird, It will Give It More of a Purpose.
I'll look Around,I think I Have One That I shot For A Catalog A While Ago.

I like the second one I'm a shutterbug myself.. I like that the mailbox is laying on the ground while the squirrel (bird) feeder is probably hanging from its pole lol

It also gives it a unique setting in the second one whereas the first one is just another bird feeder.
