Default Before/After Photo w/CS3 Camera Raw Plug-in

I took this photo December 2007. The before shot is a jpeg I reduced in size only. The after is the camera RAW photo that I processed in CS3. I am learning CS3 from a book and just learned about the Camera Raw plug-in. I am impressed. It was so easy to do almost all the work in the Camera Raw plug-in.

As you can see in the original, the photo was dark and difficult to see.

After processing in Camera Raw, I was able to save the photo. (I also easily changed the color of her dress with only a slider. It was so easy.) I also trimmed her waist a little and tried to removed the seam in the middle of her dress.

The colors in CS3 look richer than here or when I print them. That is one frustration I am experiencing.

I am looking for C & C.

Thanks

The after looks pretty washed out and flat to me. It also looks very soft. Are you making sure that you are saving it in SRGB for the web? I believe that ACR will default to adobe rgb. That could explain the difference in color.

The after shot also makes the chair look dirty and dusty...

OK. I tried saving for the "Save for the Web and Devices..." option but the file is not recognized as a valid photo format. So I went back to "Save as" and kept the file size a litle bigger and then downloaded it. The result is better, but the colors are still not as rich as what I see in CS3. The strange thing is the original held its colors much better. Here is a second attempt at the After photo.

(And yes, the very old chair is dusty. )

Convert to sRGB then save as a jpg and upload. That should get you better colors.
