Default Lightroom 2.0 Beta

Lightroom 2.0 Beta is open to the public. If you are not currently a registered Lightroom user (I'm not) then the beta will work for 30 days. If you are a Lightroom user or are invited by a Lightroom user, the beta will work for the entire beta period (thru August 2008). So, if there's a registered Lightroom user out there who is willing to send out an invite, please let me know! (The invites are encouraged and supported by Adobe. This is not in any way piracy).

Here is a link to the beta info: Adobe Labs - Adobe Lightroom 2.0 Beta

Here is a link to the place to invite others if you are registered: Adobe Labs - Lightroom Beta Invitation

As a registered owner of CS3, I'm a bit bummed that they didn't extend Lightroom invites to us...but I figure maybe someone here has it. I tried beta 1.0. It was slick, but was really slow with a large number of images like I have. I'm hoping 2.0 is faster.

I will have to check that out. I just started trying out lightroom so I may as well try the new version... Or what will become the new version anyway.

PbC, if I can remember it when I get home tonight, I'll dig up my serial number and PM you an invite (or however they let me send it out). If I forget, it's not because I hate you, I just tend to do a brain dump when I leave work.

I can't wait to try out 2.0. I've been using Lightroom 1.3 on my poor, beleaguered Core Solo Mac Mini for a while now and love it. I can't yet afford Photoshop, so I can't really compare speed between the two. I can say that Lightroom's been snappy enough for me on a low-end Mac, though.

Thanks much, Eric. I PM'd you my email (just so the search engines don't gobble it up and spam me). If they offer some kind of CS4 beta invite and you're interested, I'd be happy to return the favor.

Got it. And yeah, I'd love to finally experience Photoshop if/when they do that.

Arbib, I am a network administrator (to support my photography ). My guess is the video card being the problem. Check on Adobes web site for minumum requirements, I bet it is 128 due to the amount of files they allow open.
