Default Photo Restoration

I had a client bring me an image today that is a group of bar owners from the early 1950's. His uncle and his dad's business partner are in the shot. As you can see it is not in great shape. weird color tint from aging to it, badly wrinkled and damaged. well, with alot of work and now tired eyes I have worked it and am ready to print it out.

Lots of spot healing, patch tool, cloneing, dodging and burning, layer masks and too many other things to remember. This is the final result. Believe it or not this is actually pretty sharp. Not what I would like but it is gonna make for a decent 8x12 print.

That is a great job...

I did one of my wife when she was 8 or so with her parents and at that time, her only younger bother..

I can relate about the many clone, dodge, burn, and many other things needed to fix tares in the paper, creases or cracked paper emulsions..etc,,

It took me many hours, some just to figure out the best way to fix certain things,

You have to really enjoy doing that, because most of the time you spend on it doesnt make you very rich in the end. I think all photographers enjoy doing that once in awhile. Cheers good job.

I didn't restore the whole photo, but I did a little 5 min job on the air plane to show what could be done to restore the damage on the windows and to door, haven't cleaned up very much either, just focusing on the windows and doors. Yours seemed a little too smugged. The clone stamp is an excellent tool for recreation mixed with patients and diligents you can bring back almost anything.
