Either I didn't understand how Lois' work was viewed when it was first published, or this guy didn't. Although I wasn't alive in the 60's my understanding is that a whole lot of folks thought his work was crass in the 60's. We've distanced ourselves emotionally from the things he's poking at with time. So now they're quite popular, but that quote seems to me to be revisionist.
