Default A Portrait from this Weekend

Looking for C&C. This is Sarah's first shoot and I think she looks great.

The pose looks uncomfortable and her hair should be sweapt back out of her eyes so both can be seen. Also, your cropping could be better.

Thanks Jim. Your comments mean a lot. I know the armpit and hair thing isn't to everyone's taste...but she and I both liked this photo. I did crop this from a larger photo.

The hair doesnt bother me at all. I dont like the crop and the blur added in post looks like it was added in post. I can see where it spills into the hair. Also the eye that is showing looks very soft.

On another note... If this is a paying client then her being happy is the most important thing. That being said, just because a client or model likes an image doesnt mean it is a good image. Models are notorious for loving the worst images....

Thanks RS.

Her eye is very sharp in the photo...just not here. You are right about the hair though. That does need work.

I like the pose, the hair is ok if it was meant to be that way, but her eye is not sharp. It's int he eye mate. Sharp eye calls for a sharp image. And this one does not do it for me. The eye is just too soft.

The original is very sharp (this photo actually looks pretty sharp here on my screen). I printed this on a 13" X 19" premium glossy photo paper here at home and it looked great. She had it framed for her husband.

I think the compression leaves some to be desired when it comes to sharpness. It's too bad considering we are looking for C & C and as you say, a sharp eye is critical. My biggest issue is as was mentioned above was the less than excellent post processing around the hair. I won't let that happen again.

Thanks for the comments.

As long as it was sharp in the original is all that counts. But that is a key thing in photography. Always keep the eyes sharp.
