Nude or Not!

Well first let me state something, we don't allow nudes here! Not full nudes, implied nudes are ok, but that's it. That policy may change over time, but right now it's the choice.

Now, because nudes scare away photo industry supporters, which are needed to run a site that grows daily and to offer some great prizes and other rewards for our credit point system, my poll question to you is simple, do you want nudes or not on this site? And when we say nudes, nothing pornographic, nothing more than a typical Playboy printed edition, and staying within the grounds of photographic art with taste, i.e., Nudes, fine-art nudes, glamour nudes, erotic (not porn, creative, real erotic), implied nudes and fashion nudes (yep, they exist). It would be a separate photography forum category with restricted views.

Before you answer it, keep in mind that it will affect the ability to attract community sponsors here that could contribute significantly to our site and to our rewards/prizes/contests programs. So please make the decision not because you want to see nudes, but more will it benefit or hurt the site and it's future goals of bringing more to you via a credit points system.

Right now if we were to allow nudes, we'd have to make it viewable to registered members only, which means we'd limit ourselves to those 18 and older. Another method is by having a premium group, that way we ensure that premium members are over 18, most under 18 don't have credit cards or Paypal accounts and leave the registered group as PG-13 and up. This would be a modest price but it would allow a layer of preventing minors from accessing the nude critique forums but allow them access to other genres of photography.

Keep in mind, we're not here to start another model's site, but that question is in the next poll. And we are not looking at starting another glamour model/photog site either. Keep in mind, we intend to keep this site as "free," as in dollars, as possible. The idea is to get the photo industry and others to support us along with any donations, yes we take donations but hold up, we'll install that program later.

Regardless, all this involves additional programming, some I can do, some I'll have to contract out. Right now this site is 90% put together by me and I'm a photographer and author more than a webmaster and not really a programmer at all.

I'm in favor of no nudes on the site. Implied is okay. I think it will be easier to grow the site if nudes are not allowed. I think this might be better for all concerned in the long term and allows a much wider area of photography to be explored. G1 exists for those who want to discuss, view and talk about aspects of nude photography.

I think that being able to bring in the industry pros as you mentioned far outweighs the benefits of yet another nude site. I for one shoot alot of nudes but I have other places to post those if I want to. As RFS said, there is G1 for that as well.

I think I am in agreement with all here. GG/G1 is fine for posting the nudes.. this is a great start on a new site that will draw in alot of photographers. Having the no nudes policy will insure that we get photographer here and not just the GWC's and the people who just want to browse for nekid women.

I sure wish it was required to post a reason with your vote. I think that at least on this topic, a reason that a person wanted to include nudes or not include nudes would be an insight to the reason someone wanted to participate in this site versus another site.

I agree with RFS and RSStory: G1 exists if people want to discuss and critique nude photography. I'd rather see a more diverse site and nudes would likely scare too many sponsors away as you've suggested.

That is another added bonus of no nudes... We can get people that are serious about improving their skills not just people that want to see naked women.

Another in favour of keeping SC PG-13 rated. As has alreay been stated, there's G1 for nudes, and keeping SC open to the larger market means more serious photographers and more people that might take an active role in this site.

Yup. as most have said...Plenty of other sites to post nudes...Lets help encourage our younger generation to use this site to help them grow in photography technique..And keep it Nude Free for them too.

I feel that there should be no nudes. As other posters have commented we can put implied nudes and Playboy style on G1.

I think the ability to attract sponsors and grow this site is a great thing. Also, and this is just my opinion, I would like to see this site remain diverse as far as the variety of images posted here and the members it attracts.

Just my .02 cents worth.
