Default A Few Questions About This Site

I am taking a guess as to whether this is the right place for this question and if I guessed wrong I apologize.

I have noticed a "Credit" tally on mine and other profiles on this site. I am guessing it has to do with popular feedback or other factors. I may have missed the explanation earlier on but waht is "Credits" and how does it work? Also, are there bonuses or prizes for reaching certain "Credit" levels?

Also, I am a little confused as to how to post photos for critique on thie site. On G1 I post them from within my profile but I don't see that option here. I have had to "attach" my photos when I have posted for C & C. Is it possible to put up photos for C & C from within my profile on Shot Critic or do I have to "attach" them. I have seen other photos posted for C & C and they do not appear to be "attached".

Thanks for the assist.

First of Welcome to shot critic..

Secondly here is where you can read about the credits.. and how it works, please keep in mind that when Rolando posts that its read only he means it you cant post... http://www.shotcritic.com/forums/credit-point-system-read-only/

Then about the photos you need to go to the picture scroll down below the photo you will find two codes.. use the BB code copy and paste to the thread. Rolando is looking to make it easier but hasn't had the time to roll out a fix.

The attachment feature is usable but there is a limit to how many you can have, and later it might effectively disable a thread if you have to remove it for storage space reasons. So currently use the attachments for a feature of your photos for the slide show (which is a no reply section) http://www.shotcritic.com/forums/post-your-best-home-page-attachments-only/ read the read first thread...

Welcome to shot critic Electricseashell

The problem is that require custom programming. It is in the works from what I understand but no timeline for when it will happen yet.

Welcome

Welcome to ShotCritic David.

Ther best thing to do is post your images to an album here on shotcritic, and then use the BBcode as Scott stated.

The ETA I have right now is late this week or weekend. I do have this farmed out to a programmer as we speak. Thanks, rg sends!

For right now the easiest way is to use two browsers for inserting a photo from one of your albums into a post. Here is one example of how to do this on a Window's machine with ie6 or ie7.

1. Open two browsers. Here is the way. Open first, login to Shotcritic. Then use File | Open New Window which will open a duplicate window at the same page.
2. Select the two browser icons on the task bar and right click on them. Choose the "Show Windows Side by Side" option. They will appear something like this:

3. On the right navigate to one of your portfolios. Then click on a photo you want to insert in the post. You will see something like what is on this screen shot.

4. Copy the BB code line to clipboard.

5. On left browser paste that code at the place in your post where you want the photo to appear.

6. Complete your post.

Note: in step 4 and 5 you can just highlight the bbcode on the right browser and then click and drag it to the insert point in the left browser.

Cheers,
rfs

Thanks! This is much easier than I was doing (start the meassage, go to my album, ge the link, back-up to the waiting message and paste the link). Dumb I know...but it is amazing how many ways folks can do the same task. You probably saved me from certain annoying injury. ;-)
