How was the lighting set up (if there was any)? My first suggestion would be to use a reflector to fill in the shadows.

I personally favor the second shot over the first. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about the pose I don't care for in the first one. Maybe one of the more experienced shooters can help out here.

Very pretty model, though.

I'm More Apt To Say Something About The Slouched Posture On #1
Have Your Model Pull her Stomach In Just A little Also On # 2
Leg Looks Heavy In#1,Sandle Is Smased.Bare Feet Are Best In A Pose like This.Raise Her Up So Her Thigh Doesn't Put All of Her Weight On Her Calf And Foot.
The Challenge Working With A Model That Has Little Extra Weight And Is Less Toned Is To Make Her look 20 Pounds Thiner. The More That You Strech Her Out,The More This will Happen.
See The Image On My Profile Of The HT Model Katie,Lying On The Ropes, On The Riverfront. She Is Not a Thin Girl But She Has Purchased 500 Comp Cards With That Very Image As The Main Focus.
Keep up the good work!

Agree, The first one there is a natural slouch that is apparent and makes her look a little pudgier than she probably is at least in other words she doesnt appear to be hiding it very well, plus the shoe or sandle is a distraction, barefoot would have been better.

In the second shot she has her fingers seperated on her thigh and to me that looks a little odd. (again I am not a fashion photographer)

Same here. It appears that image 2238 is blank.

As for the OP, I agree with the lighting appearing uncontrolled -- sure it's sunlight, but the shadows and light do not appear to be planned. I'd also suggest that the background deserves to be more out of focus than it is and that the placement of a model's head with respect to the background could be better. Finally, the image appears tilted to the right. Throwing the background out of focus would help cover those issues.
