A bit on the "Dark-Side"...as in erie..
But I like it...your photo sets are right for this kind of stuff.

The 2nd one is my fav..
the 4th one doen't fit the theme, and I feel lacks contrast and/or beter lighting.

What was you set up? Sofboxes with Blinders to limit the light spread to be very directional?

I'll limit comments to lighting since that was your request. Across the images your lighting is quite varied, so I think it's probably best to comment on the posts individually.

Let me start off by saying it's obvious you are a photographer from the images. (And not just because you have a URL in them either). But, here are my thoughts on the lighting...take 'em or leave 'em!

#1: This is a deceptively tough pose to light and have everything look natural. You did a good job of lighting the face, but did you intend to have the shadow of her hand that falls across her ribs? In my opinion, that detracts from the "naturalness" of the pose. It adds more of an "Old Hollywood Horror" lighting feel to an image that might otherwise be "Old Hollywood Glamour" were it a monotone.

#2: The light seems a bit hot on her chest. It gives this a snapshot feel, which is probably the look you were creating -- you likely even used on-camera flash?

#3: I kind of like the warm-tone, muted lighting in this shot, but it does leave the image a bit flat. A ratio would have increased the contrast -- but again, it looks to me like you may have been trying for a demure sort of feel. I think you can both achieve that and have more depth to your tones. Your site has photos of models in front of the same door with much better lighting.

#4: This looks like the model was in the shade but the background was in full sunlight. This has caused you to lose contrast on the model making her look a little flat against such a bright background. I think this shot needed more light on the model.

Sorry for the intrusion, but how did he get his images to pop up when the mouse hovers over the image?

They were added as an attachment. Please don't do that for critiques. It's horrible as it requires scrolling around and popping images up to comment. I wish RG would kill attachments in the forums designed for critiques honestly. They're "cool" but they're a pain.

Yeah, they are cool, but do require a bit more work to navigate around post.

Thank you for the response.

#1: the hand shadow was not intended
#2: the brightness on her chest was due to her tan lines not the lighting, and i tried to blur that in photoshop as best i could

#4: i agree with the comment of the overly bright background. going through the set again though i see that in that photo the sun just happened to come out in full force, but i still liked this photo best becuase it was one of the models best poses

I'd like to see you shoot #4 again with a reflector, or another light. I actually like the pose and the location. And #1, other than the shadow they mentioned I really like it. It seems a bit soft, but I'm sure that's because of compression. Both are nice looking models. It's easy to sit here and say what I like and what I think would be better. But I've got to hand it to you, they're better than I'm capable of right now. Nice shots.

Theres A Lot Of potential Here.
Shot 1 Shadows In The Eyes Coming From The Forhead Front Light Too low.
Shot 2 Crys For A Better Angle.Great Background Idea!Posture Awakward Overall.
Shot 3 Too Flat.Cute Girl!
Shot 4 Better Angle On Face But Try Not Shooting So Straight On.Dark Areas.
What Are You Using For Lightng.
When We Shoot Outdoors We Try To Take Our studio Lights Out Doors Also.
You Only Need One With A Soft Box.
See The Image On my Album Captioned My little Grass Hut.It Was Shot Wide open Using Only The Modeling Lights. Also Note Angles That you See There Really Flatters Her Figure
Hope This Helps,
Jp
