I tend to be wary of having two catchlights and an almost flat lighting setup. Because of the model's facial symmetry, I think short lighting would work better on this shot. But its hard to tell in b/w sometimes. Do you have some example short and broad lit shots of the same subject for comparison?

I should have fixed that second catch light. I normally shoot this type of headshot outside with natural light and a reflector but it was pretty cold out yesterday so I just did it inside.

No, I didnt shoot anything with broad or short lighting as far as headshots go. Most of what we shot was fine-art stuff. I just always shoot a headshot with everyone.

Can I ask how many lights? what type of setup you used to create a shot like this?

3 lights total. 1 45 degrees camera right and another at camera left and a hair light. The lighting is very flat as RFS mentioned but I like that in my headshots unless I specifically need something else.
