Cool letting your child use your camera?

A few days ago I found my 8 year old son with my wife's Sony W120 Ultra-Compact..Well, I wasn't mad..But I did want to see the pictures he took..(about 20, all in his bedroom...

Here are 2...

No Post !!!....Straight from the camera..

Does your child "Dig" Photography...Or at least want to imitate you and take pictures with your camera?

hehehe, those are interesting pictures. But it happens. Kids will always grab your stuff and experiment with them.

I would suggest taking the time to actually show them how to use it. Specially if it is a point and shoot. Now a DSLR can be over whelming to them. But a point and shoot. Go for it, show them, they will love it, and also learn something new.

He does know how to turn it on, and take a picture..But...He doen't get the concept of moving the camera up/down to change the image on the EVF to capture what he wants. The Camera is a sub-compact Sony W120.

btw...He is such a techy...he loves to play with techy type stuff..(even behind my back..). I have to lock my Laptop so he does not "play" with it by pushing buttons and dialog box options. (A very dangerous "play-time" activity !!)

I am working with him on "Aiming the Camera"..

I still can't figure out how he took his feet and got that connecting motion between them? I relize it is a slower SS though.

Look like a camera strap to me.
