Thank you for the very kind words.

The background is just a piece of artists canvas ($5.99 at Fred Meyers) spray painted with satin black Rustoleum. Hand held under natural light. It was about 5:00 PM in my front yard.

Camera is a Sony A100 with a circa 1985 Maxxum "beer can" 70-210 AF with the AF switched off. Camera was set at IS100 @ 4.5 with -0.7 EV speed was set real high because there was just a hint of a breeze and I kept bumping the branch with the canvas.

I did two exposures one out of focus and the other as sharp as I could make it. Set the timer and held the canvas in back of the blossom.

I did a "high pass" sharpen on the in focus shot and then merged them.

Very nice, and thanks for sharing how it was done.

And I agree, it's ready for framing. I'd love to have a copy on canvas for my walls.
