Ah, my dreams aren't crushed. I just run with something when I think it's a good idea.

But, although I'm proud of some of my shots, a screen saver with only my shots wouldn't be of much interest to anybody but my momma.

So, I'll go back to what I do best. Watching, and talking too much.

Hmmm... Maybe a screen saver download for my momma from my personal site. ROFL

Already the Title tag is working for this because it gets seeded from the titles of each post in the forums. But it is way too short of time for it to be scoring very well yet. And the real key to first page positioning anymore is to have sufficient incoming links (with appropriate keywords in the linking text) from larger sites. That takes time. The importance of the description and keyword metatags is very very low nowadays. Google doesn't even index the keyword tag anymore as far as we can tell from the latest research. The Title tag is quite important, as are Header tags (h1, h2, etc). Also Alt tags are indexed. All of the photos of ShotCritic have Alt tags with keywords, so that is a plus.

But actually, there are some key words that will put ShotCritic #1 in Google right now. For example when I searched for "fast dof fixes in photoshop" ShotCritic is the #1 listing:

interesting in that a difference in just a few (less than 24?) hours how thinks can change... It isnt in the top 100 as of this morning (April4th, 6:00am AZ time.)

Google is always a moving target. If you make the search "fast dof fixes in photoshop" with the text in quotes as you see here, then you'll get the screen shot I showed. The interesting thing is that I didn't use quotes when I did the original search. But I've found that Google will sometimes treat a search like it had quotes if you've used the "this exact wording or phrase" option in advanced search.
Cheers,
rfs
