Surprised to see it go. It fits in well with the purpose of this site. If you check out places like DPChallenge, you'll not see 1 photographer dominating the rating system.

I think that's sort of an apples to oranges comparison. The software that's being used on DPChallenge is totally different than what was available as part of the current bulletin board system. Difference between night and day.

The interface at DPChallenge is pretty clean, but I honestly think it's just the level of participation that makes the system work. Once this site has that level of participation it would be tough to game the system and there would be more people at the top of their games.

It would be cool to bring a chess-rating system into the mix. That way people who are "grand masters" can only complete against other grand masters. Rank amateurs could then compete in their own category until they are ready to enter a photo into a higher level of competition. But I know that's all a dream. It'd be a ton of work and RG is already killing programmers as it is!
