Her eis the covered bridge shot that I did and posted before. This time I am showing the original as shot other then raw conversion and the after.

I think the original looks better also. But as is, like most image out of a digital camera it needs a little contrast adjustment. This one can really pop as is, just with a tonal contrast adjustment. Something like this for example:

The current after version seems to stray too far from the original scene. But naturally this is highly subjective since we don't know what vision the photographer had.

If one was playing with an idea of shifting the seasons, one could also come up with something like this:


Its a very nice photo to start with and the cropping was already reasonable in camera, so I think it might be better as is.

Anyway, I bet there are many other good variants that can be had of this shot.

The final shot is the vision I had when I shot it. I am not saying the original is bad and I do have a final edit of that as well. I saw something in my head and then made it happen in post. Actually both the original crop with minimal editing and the final have sold prints at art fairs and such pretty much equally so the opinions here have been echo'ed in these fairs.
