Default SInce we really don't have an abstract category

I suppose this could be editorial. I just call it industrial abstract.

The first one looks like a scary short through the insulation of the wire. I like that you are looking at the often overlooked and using black & white.

Oooh! I love the 2nd one. Especially the detail of the "crackle" in the flaking paint (due to rust, maybe?)

It hasn't shorted out yet. Each of those wires is about 3/4" thick and carry a massive amount of amperage. They've been overheating causing the insulation to crack and melt away in some places. They go to a brush, and the second picture is the bracket that hold it. The cracking of the paint is where the heat has transfered through the metal. You'll notice the insulator on the bolt on the right is split also.
One of our electricians found this during a routine inspection, and I was taking picture for maintenance records. I just got a little creative with some of the shots while I had the chance.

More in the series. Any suggestions on making these better.
