Default The What is it thread?

The Strange Machine. What is it? Is it a model making machine. With each turn a new model appears. Or is it something else? What do you imagine it is?

Cheers,
rfs

Do you have a few other angles...without the model blocking any view or sitting on any part?

Are the large metal rings hanging on it, Part of what this thing uses by the operator?

It looks like a band saw. The rings appear to be the band saw blades. It appears there is an air compressor next to it. Perhaps it is a pneumatically driven band saw?

It is a great looking old machine...oh the model is pretty good looking also.

Note that there is a drive wheel attached to the lower blade wheel. This would lean towards a belt drive. Also it appears to be deep throat saw due to the distance between the main support and blade slot so the larger table upon which the model is seated. In the lower left area of the shot, there is an electrical connection that appears to connect to the motor at the bottom of bandsaw.

It's a lemonade machine. You put 1 lemon in with a teaspoon of sugar and then you turn the wheels. Oh...don't forgot to put your cup on the floor!

I'm sticking with "Single Serving Lemonade Machine" and that's final! (But I do like the apple peeling answer...)

It's a band saw. It looks like it was originally used in a shop that had a common drive for all the machinery. You see the small grey pulley on the opposite side of the large lower wheel, that would have had a leather belt running to a driveshaft. It looks like they've added an electric motor now. The switch for it is on the wall with the conduit running to it.
The farm next to us where I grew up had an old shop like this. They had an old single piston engine that ran a common driveshaft down the center of the shop, and all the machinery ran off of belts and reduction gears to change speeds. You'd fire up the motor and engage whichever machine you needed.
