Surprisingly, I actually framed it to include that red thing because I liked the juxtaposition of color that it formed. I think without the splash of red, there would be too little going on betwixt background and flower. Again, its a very subjective thing.
I'll be interested to see other reactions on the color choices here.
Note: By the way, here is a photo showing the red thing and the blurred blue flower (the red thing looks like a bird's head).
