Hey, just wanted to introduce myself. I've been shooting most of my life, but really didn't start to shoot seriously until a few years ago. Believe it or not, I started with a small c110 camera, when I was stationed in Panama back in 1976. I then bought a Canon AE-1 program, 35 mm camera, and a 70-210 zoom lens, when I was stationed in Korea, back in 1980. I was flying for the army at the time and took it everywhere. I put the camera in the closet years ago and didn't start shooting again until 4 years ago. It was then, with my new canon digital rebel I was really able to learn. I guess I needed the instant feedback that comes with digital, to really understand what the heck shutterspeeds and apertures really did.
My wife has been asking me ever since, when does it end, as I am always wanting more equipment. First it was I needed a better flash, then reflectors, then off camera brackets, then better lens for shooting birds ( I thought she was going to kill me when I bought my canon 100-400mm IS and 100mm macro lens at the same time ), then it was studio lighting, backdrops ect, ect, ect. When I got back into shooting it was for realestate, birds and landscapes. I really love shooting swimsuit models and insects. I have shot just about everything, but have not even come close to mastering anything. I guess I still don't know, what I really want to concentrate on shooting, I'm just having fun and learning with every click of the shutter.
If anyone comes to Sarasota or close to it, let me know, I would gladly help you on your shoots, I hold a real mean reflector.
